I recently read a book called "The Happiness Project". It was about a woman who was not unhappy but made the decision that she could be "more happy". Anyway, she created some rules to live by and some changes to make each month for a year, just to see if anything changed.
I had been approached about writing a book or a blog, and this is my first attempt. I'm going to look at it like an online diary. If I have followers, sobeit. If not, no harm, no foul.
For the most part, I will use this as an outlet for my rants, raves, etc.
About myself: As time goes by, I may or may not choose to share my upbringing and how I got to this point in my life. I expect nothing from anyone, so I can't be disappointed. As for now, I am a t-shirt whore. What this means to non-screen printers is that I live and breathe t-shirts, t-shirt printing and all the chaos and clutter that goes with it. For now, this is my life.
I live in a small town of 1,600 or so, and I find myself content in this small house on the corner. I do not have grandiose ideas of mansions and gated communities. I will talk of lottery winnings later. Because of this small-scale attitude I've developed over the past few years, you may find me boring....Hell, even I find myself boring....
Here are a few (maybe not so well-known) facts:
1. I will repeat often, CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN SHOULD BE PUNISHABLE BY DEATH. If you disagree, come see me personally and I will quickly change your view.
2. I love to read, watch TV and eat. Generally, I like to do these things at the same time.
3. I have a MAJOR issue with sleep, and thanks to a legal Rx I am able to do so without a necessary addiction.
5. Sailor is my second language and sometimes my first. I am not proud of this, but it is an accepted fact.
6. I have been married for 21 years, and will tell you emphatically I was too weak to leave for the first 5. I am now glad I stuck it out and accept responsibility for a lot of the immaturity for those 5.
7. It is my opinion that there is no greater job in this world than philanthropy, and I will spend my life paying it forward. More about this later, enough for now.
8. I have 2 amazing birth children and a couple others that I worry about every day of my life. I will also tell you that I spend each day trying to convince my own children to never bear their own.
9. Multiple Sclerosis is a daily part of my life; however, it is just an excuse for my self-diagnosed early onset of Alzheimer's. No one can be this absentminded.
10. Lastly, family and friends are a choice not a right. I have relationships with people that bring happiness in my life. I believe it takes a person secure enough in their own lives to develop true friendships with others. This year, my goal is to make friends and be nicer to people that I would have never otherwise given a chance. That said, I refuse to be walked on.
Welcome to my blogspot.....hopefully, we'll become good friends. :)
